Special gift delays start for new community engagement manager
Our newest staff member, Carolyn Desrosiers, will join us Jan. 9 as a community engagement manager, overseeing competitive grant programs.
Carolyn comes from Goodwill Industries of East Central Wisconsin, where she was steward of annual giving, supervising giving campaigns, providing fund development and stewardship guidance to eight Goodwill NCW programs and doing grant-writing, special event coordination and managing of online fundraising software.
She started at Goodwill as a barista and worked her way up to program leader – music, arts, conversation. She later served as donor relations coordinator.
She fills the opening created when Heidi Dusek left to become the executive director of the J. J. Keller Foundation.
Carolyn has served on the boards of Celebrate Diversity and Friends of the Appleton Library. She is a cellist, who has helped to teach music to children in Haiti through a Lawrence University program there.
She is a Lawrence graduate, having majored in music and art. The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Pulse Young Professionals Network selected her as a Future 15 Award winner this year.
Her start with the Community Foundation has been delayed by EvaSophia, the first child of Carolyn and husband Skander, born Nov. 18.
