We welcome David Weiss to the Nonprofit Leadership Initiative

David Weiss

Hello! My name is David Weiss (he/him/his), I am blessed to be the next executive director of the Nonprofit Leadership Initiative (NPLI). I hope to build on the foundation provided by Kim O’Brien and all the founders and stakeholders who created such an amazing resource for nonprofits in our area.

As a graduate of the NPLI’s Leadership Institute’s second cohort, I am a beneficiary of the knowledge bestowed by the amazing resources the organization recruited to build the skills of area nonprofit leaders.

I also benefit greatly from the relationships developed during my time in the Leadership Institute. The work being done by NPLI will continue to equip nonprofit leaders and board members, multiplying the impact of our already passionate organizations.

When home, I get to play with my 4 children (ages 8, 6, 4 and 2), one giant dog and a few farm animals. My wife Beka is a saint for putting up with me, our children and all our farm friends.

As a long-time Fox Valley resident and former nonprofit development director and board member/chair, I know how special the Fox Valley is and what a generous community we have. I look forward to doing my part and raising my family to contribute toward a better, safer and happier Fox Valley that is welcome to all.

The Nonprofit Leadership Initiative within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region is a partnership of Fox Valley-area nonprofits, funders, educational institutions, and businesses dedicated to providing resources needed by effective nonprofit boards and executive leaders. Since its inception in 2015, NPLI has offered a wide range of leadership, management, and technical skill-building programs, as well as peer learning circles, to the entire nonprofit sector in the Fox Valley region.
