The Community Foundation Welcomes Shyanna Kelley

Hello! My Name is Shyanna Kelley, Community Engagement Coordinator. I’m a recent graduate and earned my degree in Digital Marketing and my Associates in Arts and Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Before graduating I was given the amazing opportunity to intern for 8 months with the Digital Marketing Clinic (DMC) at UW-Oshkosh. The DMC focuses on offering free digital marketing services to small businesses throughout Wisconsin, and gave me an inside look at the individual needs of different small businesses throughout the state. I was able to work with Bubolz Nature Preserve, The Oshkosh Area Women’s Fund, and African Heritage Inc. Just to name a few.

Through those experiences, I was given a deeper understanding of the work that nonprofits do for our community here in the Fox Valley, and was inspired. Ever since starting my college career, I had a passion to give back to the community that has invested so much into my development as a young professional. I have much admiration for the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the values that govern it. Respect, equity, and compassion, just to name a few. Values that I see constantly put into practice by each employee here at the Community Foundation.

Seeing everyone’s heart to serve others here has really broadened my perspective. In the words of Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”.

I moved to the Fox Valley in 2018 to further my college career. Before that, I lived in Monroe, Wis. a small town of 10,000 people, and my family originated from North Chicago.

When I’m not at work you can usually find me singing or having ukulele jam sessions with my friends and spending time with my family, my biggest support system.

I look forward to supporting the Community Foundation in serving the Fox Valley to make a positive impact for years to come!
