Nonprofits get help with end-of-year fundraising appeals

The last quarter of the calendar year is a whirlwind for nonprofits.

Annette Look, NPLI Program Manager

An unbelievable 30% of all charitable giving occurs in December and 10% of that is given in the last 3 days of the year. Additionally, over a quarter of nonprofits raise between 26 – 50% of their operating funds from their year-end ask. That’s a lot of pressure!

Add in planning for Giving Tuesday on November 30, 2021, holiday events, and maybe even a personal life, and nonprofit fundraisers (which includes board members) have their hands full.

Rachel Ramjattan

To assist nonprofits with planning their end-of-year giving campaign, NPLI partnered with the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northeast Wisconsin to host a virtual training with Rachel Ramjattan, Nonprofit Plus, LLC.  Rachel is the bestselling author of No More Duct Tape Fundraising: The Nonprofit Leader’s Guide to Becoming an Inspirational Fundraiser and has coached over 500 small to midsize nonprofits on fundraising best practices.

Over 100 local fundraisers registered for the virtual training session. Not only did attendees get a chance to learn from an expert fundraiser, they got a chance to connect with other fundraisers during a breakout session to share how they were going to implement what they learned.

Several attendees shared they’ll be working on their planning calendar, creating a theme, and sending Thanksgiving cards to improve their end-of the-year campaign.

One attendee shared, “Rachel gave really robust content and I loved that she had practical examples. She engaged well with the audience and had fantastic content. Had a great group of people in my breakout session too!”

We’re able to offer this program to nonprofits within our service region for free because of generous donors supporting our mission to provide training so nonprofits can better achieve their missions.
