Ryn Nason joins the Community Foundation

Hello everyone! My name is Ryn, and I am your new Donor Services and Gift Planning Coordinator. I am very excited to be joining the team at the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region!

Prior to joining the Community Foundation, I worked for Menasha Corporation and Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin. In recent years, I have enjoyed volunteering with local organizations, including Cats Anonymous, the Fox Cities Marathon, Woof Lodge & Rescue, Riverview Gardens, and Saving Paws Animal Rescue.

My volunteer experience also includes taking corporate photos at a Pulling for Honor event, grant writing for Fox Valley Literacy, and managing online ad campaigns for an animal shelter in Arizona.

I consider myself to be a lifelong student – there is always something new to learn! This perspective is undeniably reflected in my academic history. I have two bachelor’s degrees from Lawrence University: Classical Civilizations and Design & Technical Theatre, with a focus on Stage Management. From Fox Valley Technical College, I have an associate degree in Event Management, as well as certificates in Proposal/Grant Writing and Digital Media.

In my free time, I enjoy painting, reading, photography, and spending time with my family and pets. One of my life goals is to visit each of the 49 continental United States. So far I’ve made it to 40 states, mostly on family road trips to National Parks!

During my interview with the Community Foundation, one of the interviewers said something that inspired me. She said, “It’s hard to be a pessimist while working here. You see people’s generosity every day.” I understood the truth in those words within my first week.

Two months into my role with the Community Foundation, I continue to feel grateful that I am able to support the generosity that seems to overflow throughout the Fox Valley region.
