The Real Estate Group Foundation Fund gives the Coldwell Banker realtors a way to give back

By Iida Berg, administrative associate, Donor Services & Gift Planning

The Real Estate Group Foundation Fund within the Community Foundation gives back to the Northeast Wisconsin communities that Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group services, and benefits the charitable interests of the agents of the company.

Karen Cain, Senior Associate for the Coldwell banker Real Estate Group, says:

“Because our agents fund the Foundation via our annual golf outing and individual contributions, our grants committee truly strives to support programs that are meaningful to the agents and the communities we serve. Our application process is simple, our guidelines are clear, and our committee gives a lot of thought to how we can help with hopes of making the greatest impact possible.”

The partnership between the Community Foundation and the realtors making the funding decisions creates bridges to communities within and surrounding the Fox Valley area, and is a great channel for giving.

TREG supports a wide range of causes, including education, homelessness, hunger and environmental issues. Last week the fund supported two presentations at at U.W. Oshkosh and Fox Valley Technical College titled Surviving Genocide: A Story of Hope. Author Sandra Uwiringiyimana is the author of the book, How Dare the Sun Rise: Memoirs of a War Child.

In the past five years, the committee has approved $156,306 in grants to organizations in their communities, such as the Manitowoc Area Police and Fire Departments, Woodland Dunes Nature Center, Day by Day Warming Shelter and Tri-County Community Dental Clinic, to name a few.
