Fox Cities Greenways, Inc.: Celebrating 30 Years Trails, Connections, and Community
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Fox Cities Greenways, Inc. Since 1995, the organization has worked to preserve environmental corridors, expand recreational access, and champion green spaces in the Fox Valley Region.
With support from funds within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, Fox Cities Greenways has been involved in some of the region’s most significant waterway and trail projects. One of the most significant milestones made possible through this partnership is the restoration of the Appleton locks—part of the only fully restored, hand-operated lock system in the nation. Fox Cities Greenways has also played a crucial role in enhancing public access and improving trail connectivity along the Fox River, including the installation of wayfinding signage to help non-motorized boaters navigate the system safely.
We congratulate Fox Cities Greenways on three decades of meaningful impact, demonstrating that Together, we flourish.
