5 Ways donors show the love through the Community Foundation

Donors are the heart of the Community Foundation. We appreciate the many ways you support our mission every day!
Here are how some donors make a difference in their communities:

1 Making positive changes

The YMCA of the Fox Cities is extremely grateful to have convened more than 200 local educators recently for a powerful day of growth and collaboration, thanks to support from the Community Foundation’s Robert Dohr and Lilas Dohr Current Community Needs Fund. This investment in educator growth stands as a testament to the commitment to continuous improvement and community building!

2 Creating legacies that impact the community

The Himebaugh Legacy Circle includes more than 300 members who have included the Community Foundation in their estate plans.

Among this thoughtful group is Jim Reichel who was passionate about his Kaukauna community. In 2006 he established the James R. Reichel Charitable Fund, a donor advised fund within the Community Foundation.

Jim’s wish was to make an impact in his community during and after his lifetime with grants from his fund to Salvation Army Fox Cities and other nonprofit organizations that provide food, shelter, and clothing.

3 Remembering a loved one’s favorite charitable causes

The City of Menasha received a $6,290 grant from the Chris Murphy Memorial Fund for the Menasha Skatepark within the Community Foundation for a sunshade that will enhance the skateboarding experience at Menasha Skate Park. Skateboarding was a passion of Chris Murphy’s, and he played a significant role in the construction of the Menasha Skatepark. His brother Patrick and his mother Debra are honoring his memory through this fund by improving skateboarding facilities at Hart Park and providing equipment to children in need. 4 Giving a hand to brighten students’ futures

“I am beyond grateful for the donors who have made this scholarship possible. It gives me solace during this time of change and uncertainty knowing that there are people who want me to succeed and are helping to give me the tools to do so. I thank you, sincerely, for this opportunity.”

5 The impact of an anonymous gift!

Some generous givers are stepping up to the plate to improve safety and prevent injuries at a beloved baseball park in Waupaca. One of them, the owner of an anonymous fund within the Community Foundation, awarded a $10,000 grant for the Waupaca Lakemen baseball field project. The renovations will replace outdated electrical systems and improve field conditions for players.
