The New London Library Board, along with the Friends of the Library and the Fund Raising Committee, were excited to receive the $250,000 grant from the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the Marilynn Taylor / Wohlt Cheese Fund.

This grant is a giant step in the building of our current E-Library and a leap into the future for the citizens of the New London area. Our new complex which we refer to as the Annex will fill the void to our present Carnegie Library built in 1914.

Our current plans include a Fabrication Lab and STEM Lab with an appeal for all ages and the opportunity to learn basic trades which can build and retain the local work force.

A computer lab with WIFI access will also be available for both individual and group needs.

Additionally we will be including a teen center, private study rooms, and collaborative work areas, as well as a large meeting room with an attached kitchen to accommodate library programs and community needs.

Thank you to the legacy of Marilynn Taylor, a former community resident and entrepreneur, and the Community Foundation for giving New London the opportunity to step into the future with library services and facilities.

The Marilynn W. Taylor/Wohlt Cheese Fund is a permanent endowment fund that will provide support in the New London and Fremont region in addition to the scholarship support provided for students to attend Lawrence University, Marilynn’s alma mater.
