Purpose

Created from the assets of the Sheltered Activity Center when it dissolved, the fund is dedicated to improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities through education, independence and social opportunities.

What We Fund

  • New and existing programs or services that address the recreational, social and educational needs of people with developmental disabilities and other handicapping conditions. Priority will be given to innovative direct service programs or projects that promote independence, productivity, respect and inclusion for all individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Small capital investments including equipment for agencies to assist clients with developmental disabilities and technology that supports programming and aids in mission fulfillment.
  • Recurring activities such as education or mentoring events, camps, competitions, therapy, or non-fundraising events.

Range of grantmaking: Up to $3,000
Accepting applications:
Sept. 1 - Nov. 1 by 11:59 p.m.

  • Fundraising events
  • Grants to individuals

To Apply

  1. To see if you qualify for a grant, carefully review the Community Foundation’s general grant policies. These policies include important information such as which types of organizations can receive grants, our nondiscrimination policy, faith-based funding policy, etc.  
  2. Based on the general grant policies and grant guidelines stated above, if you believe you qualify, you may apply through our Grant Portal. (If you have not used the Grant Portal before, go to our Grant Portal landing page for information on registration, FAQs, and helpful tutorials.) 
  3. Once logged into the Grant Portal, click on the “Apply” page and search for the grant you wish to apply for.
