Clintonville Area Foundation

Improving the quality of life in the Clintonville area.

Foundation-Directed

Families of Funds

Purpose

Grants from the Clintonville Area Foundation’s Community Fund come from fundraising activities and unrestricted funds that donors established intending that the boards of the CAF and the Community Foundation determine the best ways to use the grant money to meet ongoing community needs. The grants are intended to improve the quality of life for residents of the Clintonville Area School District.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, for its 2020 annual grant cycle the Clintonville Area Foundation is temporarily amending the annual competitive grant guidelines to more aptly respond to the crisis.

Traditionally, this fund has accepted applications for events, projects, and programs that benefit Clintonville residents.

The Foundation will continue to accept requests from charitable organizations for these types of activities as they have in years past. In addition, applicants may request assistance to respond to the COVID-19 crisis and/or for general operating support for organizations whose typical revenue streams have been negatively impacted by COVID – 19.

The Clintonville Area Foundation application (found in our grant portal) has also been shortened for greater efficiency and will be available starting Oct. 13, 2020.

What We Fund

In addition to the list of activities below that CAF has traditionally funded, this year, the Foundation will consider COVID - 19 crisis response activities and requests for unrestricted/general operating support to help sustain services important to Clintonville residents.

  • Creative new activities or services: New programs, one-time projects, events, exhibits, studies or surveys.
  • Enhancement or strengthening of existing activities: Projects to enhance, expand or strengthen the range, quantity and/or quality of an organization’s programs and services.
  • Small capital investments: Items that are directly related to program delivery or service to clients, such as a refrigerator for a food pantry or equipment to comply with ADA requirements.
  • Recurring events: Exhibits, presentations, performances or non-fundraising events that occur on a periodic basis. Grants for recurring events typically will not exceed $2,500 annually per organization for a maximum of three years.

Range of grantmaking: Up to $3,000
Deadline: Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. In the event Dec. 1 falls on a weekend, the deadline will be the following Monday at 4 p.m.
Grant decisions: Late January
