Sustain the Bay Fund

SEEKING SOLUTIONS: The Fox River and bay of Green Bay help to define our region. Much of the Fox Valley and Green Bay’s industry and traditions rely on this key resource. However, years of runoff, nutrient loading and other pollution have taken their collective toll. We need your help to restore our waters to their full potential!

Former U.S. Rep. Reid Ribble and Schreiber Foods President and CEO Mike Haddad are asking friends of the Fox River and bay of Green Bay to help build a charitable fund to pay for real-world solutions to reduce the runoff of phosphorus and other nutrients into our treasured waterways. The work has already begun, but much more can be done with the support of concerned businesses, community leaders and individuals.

Part of the Solution

Steward of the land: Grass waterways, cover crops, monitoring wells all help.

Award-winning Conservation: Robots and conservation make Diederich farm a viable good neighbor.

Sustain the Bay Grants

Purpose

Sustain the Bay provides resources to assist in bringing new, innovative solutions to continually improve water quality and sustainable agriculture in the Lower Fox River/Lower Green Bay Basin.  The field of interest fund will support this collective effort through grant making to qualified projects that work toward this common goal of improving water quality, reducing nutrient or sediment runoff, and/or improving soil health.

What we fund

  • Acquisition of equipment for broad utilization in the basin
  • Field-level research
  • Sharing of new technologies and methods to reduce soil and nutrient runoff

What we don’t fund

  • Groundwater-specific projects
  • Projects outside of the Lower Fox River Basin
  • Major university-based research
  • Benefits to individuals
