Legacy Gift Helps Neenah Nonprofits

When Helen and William Burger passed away, they left a legacy gift they hoped would make a difference in the Town and City of Neenah.

When Helen and William Burger passed away, they left a legacy gift they hoped would make a difference in the Town and City of Neenah. Their field of interest endowment fund has recently supported the Voting for a Change exhibit, bringing the history of the 19th Amendment to life at the Neenah Historical Society; Neenah Park Kart, which brings playground activities to kids; and Future Neenah for Loop the Lake trail and signs at Herb & Dolly Smith Park.

Helen, who died in 2004 and William in 1996, left a percentage of their estate to the Community Foundation, to establish the William and Helen Burger Memorial Fund. Their love for their community is evident as people stroll around Neenah, rest on a park bench at Riverside Park, or admire the wildlife from the lake trails.

Have you given thought to your own legacy and how you can make a difference to a loved one, your community and your favorite charitable causes? Your Community Foundation is happy to help with your long-term charitable planning to help you make an impact on the people and projects that matter to you long after you are no longer here. The Himebaugh Legacy Circle recognizes those who have made future plans for their favorite charitable causes through a bequest or similar deferred gift to the Foundation.
