"I have every confidence that they will do the giving as I do."
At age 99, Cody Splitt has been contributing to the Fox Valley community for a long time.
Even after she celebrates her last birthday, the retired attorney and active community volunteer will continue to support favorite community causes through gifts to her charitable funds here, as outlined in her estate plan.
By virtue of that planned gift, Cody became a member of the Himebaugh Legacy Circle. She added her name to the list of donors expressing their trust in the Foundation to continue their charitable giving after their lifetimes. Her Legacy Circle membership also gives the Foundation the opportunity to thank her now for her future gift.
Cody said she’s happy to have her name associated with legacy gifts to the Foundation.
“I’m talking about the Community Foundation all the time,” she said. “I’m very pleased with the work the Community Foundation has done for me.”
Cody and her late husband have the Harley and Cody Splitt Charitable Fund, the Cody and Harley Splitt Fund for FVTC and Harley B. Splitt Scholarship Fund within the Community Foundation.
“I leave it in their hands and I have every confidence that they will do the giving as I do,” Cody said.
