Our Story

Established in 2003, the Waupaca Area Community Foundation’s mission is to preserve and improve the quality of life for the people of the greater Waupaca area. The WACF is a geographic affiliate of the Appleton, WI-based Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. Our donors support charitable work in our communities, across the state or around the world. Contributions to and other charitable funds provide for grants to 501(c)3 and other qualifying nonprofit organizations and projects. Read our 2016 Annual Report.

Grants

Since its inception, the WACF has awarded more than $820,000 in grants from all of its charitable funds that have been created by individuals, families, businesses and organization. Most grants are awarded from funds for which the donors recommend recipients or have dedicated all grant money to specific charitable organizations or causes.

NEW GRANT OPPORTUNITY! The Tim and Joy Neuville Family Fund within WACF is offering a Forward Together Grant of up to $50,000 to encourage nonprofit organizations serving communities in Waupaca County to think big and propose visionary projects that will make a significant, long-term difference. Application deadline: May 1.

WAUPACA AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FUND GRANTS

These grants are awarded through an annual competitive grants process, which involves review and decisions by a committee of local volunteers. Grants support specific projects or new programs for which a moderate amount of grant money can make a significant impact in the areas of arts and culture, community development, education, environment, health and human services. Make a tax-deductible donation to this fund online.

June 12, 2017, is the deadline to apply for grants from this fund. A new online grant application will be posted in spring. In 2016, grants totaling $44,800 were awarded to nine nonprofit organizations. Read more.

GRANT DOLLARS IN ACTION: Opera for the Young entertained, and engaged, students in Waupaca during two performances of “Elixir of Love” at elementary schools, with the support of a $1,500 WACF Community Fund grant.
