Compassionate Connections receives funds from Clintonville Community Heroes Award winner

The Clintonville Area Foundation, one of our five affiliate partners,  awarded Sue Aschliman its Community Heroes Award a few years ago. In 2021 she announced she was directing the $2,000 from the award to Compassionate Connections Center.

Established in 2011 by Clintonville native Dan Olk, the award recognizes and celebrates outstanding volunteers and their activities in Clintonville-area communities. The award comes with $2,000 for the winner to donate to local charities of his or her choice.

Compassionate Connections volunteers help stock pantry items throughout the year.

“Our program would not be able to fill the bellies of 245 students each week if it wasn’t for the endless support from our community,” says Leah Wojnowiak, Executive Director. “This generous gift of $2,000 allows the organization to continue its effort of providing healthy food options and nutrient-dense meals to students enrolled in the weekend backpack program, The Nutrition Mission.”

These funds were used to support the bread and milk vouchers provided to students and their families each week.

The Clintonville Area Foundation is one of five geographic affiliates we partner with in the Fox Valley. Our other partners include Brillion Area Family of Funds, Chilton Area Community Foundation, Shawano Area Community Foundation and Waupaca Area Community Foundation.
