Donors help dancers take the stage when pandemic ends

Makaroff School of Ballet dancers are ready to perform in 2021 when it’s safe.

By Jennifer Van Elzen, Vice President, Makaroff Youth Ballet

Makaroff would like to thank all our generous donors and we especially want to thank the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. Since the beginning of COVID-19 we have received several grants via the Community Foundation.

We had to cancel both of our performances, but our donors are helping us move forward. Makaroff School of Ballet is taking this time to develop our dancers and concentrating on technique. Our goal, when COVID-19 has passed, is to emerge with an even greater technically trained full company of dancers ready to perform in 2021.

Our Board is also busy behind the scenes working through a strategic planning process to ensure the viability of our organization in the years to come. Our world is changing, and the world of dance is not immune to that. We need to ensure the art of classical ballet is accessible to all those in the Fox Cities who wish to be a part of it for the many years to come.

Thank you to the Community Foundation and specifically the funds and trusts that are allowing organizations like ours to keep their doors open during these difficult times:

  • Helen Hardt Family Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region
  • Community Foundation Fund for Makaroff Youth Ballet within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region
  • Peter and Anne Jones Revocable Trust
  • Bright ldea Fund within the Community Foundation
