Local partnership hosts online training Wednesday on “Equity, Diversity and Inclusion: Cultivating Culture”

Us 2 Behavioral Health is teaming up with NPlace.org to present a timely topic, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion: Cultivating Culture. The online training is tomorrow, June 10, at 3 p.m. The presentation is made possible by a grant from the Basic Needs Giving Partnership within the Community Foundation, supported by the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs, the J.J. Keller Foundation, Inc., and other community partners.

A grant made through the Basic Needs Partnership (a fund within the Community Foundation, supported by the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs, the J.J. Keller Foundation, Inc., and other community partners), is making important training available in the Fox Cities Wednesday and has sparked a partnership with NPlace.org.

Earlier this year, the partnership approved a grant for Us 2 Behavioral Health Care, which allowed them to create a training and education program for equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). Us 2 recently hired Dana Johnson as their new EDIT Outreach & Change Leader to lead the efforts.

Dana Johnson, Us 2 Behavioral Health

Johnson says, “Equity, diversity, and inclusion begins with self-reflection, guided by conversation in a safe space.  Us 2 Behavioral Health Care focuses our work on helping organizations understand their work cultures and how equity, diversity, and inclusion can improve staff mental health, work performance, and their holistic lives.  We encounter microaggressions of discrimination, oppression, and racism in our everyday work.  Us 2 prides itself in working with organizations to educate employees and leaders, examine workspace norms and culture, review policies and procedures, and entire organizational structures to exemplify equity, diversity, and inclusion with a heart-forward, future focused mindset.  It begins with you and Us 2.”

Recent worldwide protests in response to the brutal murder of George Floyd have brought the need for EDI to the forefront of many minds and Us 2 is ready to help.

Us 2 Behavioral Healthcare will partner with NPlace.org (an online community for nonprofit professionals) to host an event on Wednesday June 10 at 3 pm. This event will be directed toward nonprofit professionals, but all are welcomed to attend. Registration is open here.

The vision at Us 2 Behavioral Health Care is to build a community where diversity is celebrated, inclusion becomes ordinary practice and equity is recognized. Advancing a community to embrace diversity, inclusion, and equity is a significant endeavor. They pursue partnerships, programs, and events in an effort to drive action within the community.
