Music is for everyone! That’s the mission behind Brats, Beer and Beethoven, a free, family-friendly concert event on Saturday, July 14. Join the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers for this fourth annual evening of music and fireworks at the Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.

Crowds fill the stands at Fox Cities Stadium

This year, BBB reaches out to our friends who face special barriers to participating in artistic events. The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region is this year’s Presenting Sponsor, thanks to a $7,500 grant from the Bright Idea Fund .

The Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have invited participants in the Miracle League of the Fox Valley baseball league and the FVSO’s “In Harmony” music program, to attend the afternoon BBB concert rehearsal.  With full access to parking and seating, this sensory-friendly experience will allow families to enjoy the music of the concert without crowds and fireworks.

The view from last year’s event

Miracle League of the Fox Valley is an organized baseball league for children with cognitive and/or physical disabilities, and “In Harmony” presents music therapy-informed participative performances for youth and adults with special needs.

The FVSO’s Music For Everyone initiative strives to overcome barriers to participation and engagement with music through its outreach and education programs, like “In Harmony.”

Of course, the evening concert will once again be filled with wonderful music, fireworks and fun for the entire family. Come out early and tailgate in the parking lot.  Admission to the parking lot and the stadium is free.

Fireworks at last year’s event

The parking lot opens at 5 p.m., the gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 pm.  Fireworks will follow the last strike of the timpani, about 9 p.m.

Brats, Beer and Beethoven is only possible because of the partnership of the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and many generous sponsors and friends.
