Frank Shattuck’s legacy still helping youth

Posted on Oct 3, 2014, by

Community leaders have been working tirelessly in recent months to secure the financial gifts necessary to invest in a Boys and Girls Clubs in Menasha. Contributors to the multi-million-dollar project include businesses and people who care about the future of young people in our community. And then there’s Frank Shattuck.

FrankShattuckJPGFrank, a prominent Neenah architect and philanthropist, passed away in 1998. Boys and Girls Clubs for Menasha wouldn’t have been on the community’s radar 16 years ago, but a bequest in Frank’s will created a charitable fund with us in his name to continue his legacy of generous giving to causes he loved, including organizations helping young people.

The Frank C. Shattuck Community Fund was able to provide a $500,000 grant to help build the new club because Frank knew and trusted that the Community Foundation and an advisory committee looking after his legacy would provide help when and where it was needed.updated_rendering_with_correct_bgc_logo copy

Since his death, more than $5 million in grants from his fund have strengthened our community, and it will continue forever.

Thank you, Frank, for your generous spirit and caring heart.
