Preserving and protecting the quality of life in the greater Waupaca area.
Waupaca Area Community Foundation Fund grant money comes from fundraising activities -- including an annual gala -- and unrestricted funds that donors established intending that volunteer board members determine the best ways to use the grant money to address community needs.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, for its 2020 annual grant cycle the Waupaca Area Community Foundation is temporarily amending the annual competitive grant guidelines to more aptly respond to the crisis. Traditionally, this fund has accepted applications for projects and programs in the areas of arts and culture, community development, education, environment, and health and human services.
The Foundation will continue to accept requests from charitable organizations in these areas, with greater flexibility as to the type of support provided. Applicants may request support for projects or programs benefiting residents of the Waupaca area as they have in years past, or, they may request assistance to respond specifically to the Covid-19 crisis including sustaining critical mission-based work that has been financially impacted by the crisis.
In addition to this list of requests WACF has traditionally considered, this year, the Foundation will consider Covid- 19 crisis response activities and requests to help sustain services important to Waupaca residents (operating support.)
Range of grantmaking: Up to $5,000 per application. (In past years, the maximum per application was $7,500, and organizations could submit more than one application with requests totaling no more than $15,000. This range has been adjusted for this year due to limited resources, and an expected increase in requests.)
Deadline: June 10, 4 p.m. In the event June 10 falls on a weekend, the deadline will be the following Monday at 4 p.m. Applications are accepted beginning May 19. Grant decisions are made in mid-August.
