Waupaca Area Community Foundation Fund Grants

Preserving and protecting the quality of life in the greater Waupaca area.

Families of Funds


Waupaca Area Community Foundation Fund grant money comes from fundraising activities -- including an annual gala -- and unrestricted funds that donors established intending that volunteer board members determine the best ways to use the grant money to address community needs.

Due to the continued impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic, for its 2021 annual grant cycle the Waupaca Area Community Foundation will follow these temporarily amended granting guidelines, which are similar to the guidelines implemented in 2020.

Traditionally, this fund has accepted applications for projects and programs in the areas of arts and culture, community development, education, environment, and health and human services.

The Foundation will continue to accept requests from charitable organizations in these areas, with greater flexibility as to the type of support provided.

What We Fund

In addition to the list below of types of requests WACF has traditionally considered, this year, the Foundation will also consider Covid- 19 crisis response activities as well as requests for general operating support to help sustain services important to Waupaca residents. (Note: to request general operating support, applicants must have endured unexpected financial losses or disruption to typical revenue streams and/or increased demand for services as a result of the Covid-19 crisis and should explain these circumstances in their application.)

  • Creative new activities or services: New programs, one-time projects, events, exhibits, studies or surveys.
  • Enhancement or strengthening of existing activities: Projects to enhance, expand or strengthen the range, quantity and/or quality of an organization’s programs and services.
  • Small capital investments: Items that are directly related to program delivery or service to clients, such as a refrigerator for a food pantry or equipment to comply with ADA requirements.
  • Recurring events: Exhibits, presentations, performances or non-fundraising events that occur on a periodic basis.  Grants will only support the same program or project for a maximum of three years.

Range of grantmaking: Organizations may request up to $7,500 per application, and may submit up to two applications. The two applications must be for different projects/programs/needs.

Deadline: June 10, 4 p.m. In the event June 10 falls on a weekend, the deadline will be the following Monday at 4 p.m. Grant decisions are made in mid-August.

What We Don't Fund

  • Organizations that don't serve residents in the greater Waupaca Area.
  • Organizations or needs not eligible per the grant policies listed above.
