Preserving and improving the quality of life in Shawano and the surrounding area.
Grants from the Shawano Area Community Foundation's Shawano Area Fund come from fundraising activities and unrestricted funds that donors established intending that the boards of the SACF and the Community Foundation determine the best ways to use the grant money to meet ongoing community needs. The grants are intended to improve the quality of life in the greater Shawano area.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, for its 2020 annual grant cycle the Shawano Area Community Foundation is temporarily amending the annual competitive grant guidelines to more aptly respond to the crisis.
The Foundation will continue to accept requests with greater flexibility as to the type of support provided. Applicants may request support for projects or programs benefiting residents of the Shawano area as they have in years past, or, they may request assistance to respond specifically to the Covid-19 crisis including sustaining critical mission-based work that has been financially impacted by the crisis.
In addition to this list of requests SACF has traditionally considered, this year, the Foundation will consider Covid- 19 crisis response activities and requests to help sustain services important to Shawano area residents (operating support.)
