Sharper Edges: Women Working on the Edge of Glass @ Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass | Neenah | Wisconsin | United States

The Bright Idea Fund will be supporting this exhibit’s outreach to give underserved and at-risk young women (grades 5-12) the opportunity to experience Bergstrom-Mahler’s “Sharper Edges: Women Working on the Edge of Glass” exhibit. The young women will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with the artists the social issues represented in the art work and create their own expressive art piece.

This exhibit examines a select group of  female regional artists who speak out with a distinct viewpoint about social issues.    Susan Taylor Glasgow, Carmen Lozar, Stephanie Trenchard, Beth Lipman and Lisa Loch, are among the artists represented in this selective exhibition, however, the galleries will highlight works by other female artists and would like to recognize their contributions in studio glass, paperweights and in 19th century glass.

The exhibit ends February 17, 2019.

The outreach to underserved and at-risk women is supported by a Bright Idea Fund grant.
