Grant Workshops

A strong grant request is one that is well-prepared, thoughtfully planned and concisely packaged. We offer workshops focused on grant-seeking skills that will be useful when applying for grants from the Community Foundation’s Bright Idea Fund or donor-directed funds with application processes.

Please register in advance for all information sessions and workshops.

We strongly suggest that you attend a “Navigating Your Community Foundation & Charting a Course for Grantseeking” session prior to attending a workshop. Please register for one of the following session dates:

January 17, 2020; 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. 

March 25, 2020; 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

May 19, 2020; 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. 

Grant Workshops

How to tell your story in 5-minutes or less – A strong grant request is one that is well-prepared, thoughtfully planned and concisely packaged. The “Tell Your Story in 5 Minutes or Less” workshop will teach you how to use basic principles of storytelling to make a concise and compelling case for support. Please register for one of the following session dates:

January 29, 2020; 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

April 23, 2020; 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. 

Money Matters – Project Budget Workshop – The “Money Matters: Project Budget” workshop will help you learn how to craft a bulletproof budget for any grant application. Facilitator, Carolyn Desrosiers, will guide attendees through 7 budget best practices and small group discussion of actual budget samples with other attendees.

All workshops are held at the Community Foundation office.
