Through the generosity of our donors, we have more than $1 million in scholarships available each year to students from 60 schools in the Fox Valley. Many scholarship deadlines are March 1!
We frequently receive letters and phone calls of gratitude from students and from their parents. We’re incredibly thankful to share the stories we hear, like this one from Kristy Kurtz, who recently wrote to us from Kenya! Kristy is a 2016 graduate of Shawano High School, and is allowing us to share her thank-you note:
Thank you so much for the Weber-Tingley-Klein Scholarship! I am so thankful to have another semester of your financial support. I am very excited to update you all on how I am progressing in my schooling.
Currently, I am a junior at Bethany Global University studying Bible/Theology and Intercultural Studies to pursue missionary work as a career. I moved to Eastern Kenya in September 2019 to begin my 16-month internship. This internship is designed to give students a hands-on experience into the life of a missionary.
As you can imagine, it has been a very stretching semester so far. Living in a desert, experiencing culture shock, and learning a new language while still taking online classes has not been easy. However, I am so thankful to be practically learning what living on the mission field looks like. I have learned so much already and have been growing deeply in my faith.
As I continue studying in Kenya for the rest of 2020, I am excited to see how God moves. This spring, our small group of students will begin helping in various ministries and continue building relationships with our Muslim friends.
I’ll continue taking classes throughout the spring, summer, and fall semesters until I return to the United States in December 2020. My degree will be complete after my spring semester 2021 in Minnesota. Right now, I do not know what I want to do in long-term in ministry, but I know studying with Bethany Global University is a great first step!
Thank you so much for progressing me further in pursuing missionary work. I am so thankful, and I know God is greatly using my time in college to prepare me!
In 2019 we’ve awarded $1.36 million in scholarships to 436 students, thanks to the generous people, businesses and organizations passionate about helping students achieve their education dreams! Apply for our scholarships here.
