Creative Kids Returns to Downtown Appleton

The fun and educational children’s program Creative Kids is returning to downtown Appleton this summer for its second installment. Creative Kids was created by Creative Downtown Appleton in partnership with The Building for Kids and is tied to the popular interactive art walk, Art on the Town.

Creative Kids brings interactive, free arts education and projects to families. We also offer take-home creativity kits that take art exploration and enrichment beyond the event itself.

After receiving a $2,500 Bright Idea Fund grant from the Community Foundation, Creative Downtown Appleton was able to create more creativity kits that are to be distributed at the events. The contribution also allows Creative Downtown Appleton to reach more of the community and to ensure that the arts are accessible to everyone.

This project benefits the greater Fox Cities as it combines an opportunity for free public art, arts education and involvement. The free, quality creative programming offered is particularly beneficial for families that face barriers to participation in many other summer recreation opportunities.

Creative Kids will run from 3:30-6 p.m. before Art on the Town on June 15, July 20, and Aug. 17. Kids will enjoy free art activities including make and take art projects, collaborative art pieces and movement activities. No registration is required for this event.

You can make the Bright Ideas burn even brighter by adding your support. See a list of all grants awarded from the Bright Idea Fund.
