Purpose

Created from the assets of the Sheltered Activity Center when it dissolved, the fund is dedicated to improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities through education, independence and social opportunities.

What We Fund

  • New and existing programs or services that address the recreational, social and educational needs of people with developmental disabilities and other handicapping conditions. Priority will be given to innovative direct service programs or projects that promote independence, productivity, respect and inclusion for all individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Small capital investments including equipment for agencies to assist clients with developmental disabilities
  • Recurring activities such as camps, competitions or non-fundraising events.
  • In addition to this list of requests that the SAC Developmental Disabilities Fund has traditionally considered, this year, requests for general operating support will also be considered.

Range of grantmaking: Up to $5,000
Accepting applications:
Sept. 1 - Nov. 1 by 11:59 p.m.

  • Major capital projects (facilities construction and land acquisition)
  • Medical research
  • Fundraising events
  • Grants to individuals
